How to Dress Like a Female Boss

Boss Lady

How do I dress like a female boss without giving up my sense of style and still have people take me seriously? This question has become more important in recent times because of the great works of the Metoo and TimesUp movements. These social movements have succeeded in bringing about a hike in the number of women playing leadership roles; and similarly, their efforts has led to an increase in the number women vying for political positions. As a female boss, you have to think like a boss, act like a boss and most important to us, you have to dress like a boss.

Here are my tips on how to dress like a female  boss

Be bold

Have you ever wondered why the queen of England always wears bright colours? This is because she always has to standout, so that she can be seen in a crowd. Don’t be afraid of bold palettes. Its important to standout especially because you are the boss.

Be comfortable

Men have their brogues and dress boots, which are comfortable, stylish and still formal. As awesome as stilettos might be, they are not the most comfortable shoes in terms of mobility. On days your itinerary suggests you’ll be doing some walking around, opt for shoes with Kitten heels. They are comfortable and super trendy. Pant suits are another trend I think favours a female boss.

Accessorize minimally

Always remember, quality over quantity. You do not have to employ your entire jewelry box for a days look. If you are going big on your neck, your ear ring should be small.

Formal does not mean boring

Formal and boring are not synonyms so don’t give them new meanings with your dress style. Infuse trends into your look. Statement sleeves are a favourite right now. They can add some swank to your look.

Be graceful

Never sacrifice your femininity, in fact, embrace it: stand tall, be statuesque.
